The 16th International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction with Mobile Devices and Services (Mobile HCI) is the premier forum for innovations in mobile, portable and personal devices and with the services to which they enable access. GRAND is a proud Champion Sponsor of the conference.
The conference brings together people from diverse areas and provides a multidisciplinary forum for academics, hardware and software developers, designers and practitioners to discuss the challenges and potential solutions for effective interaction with and through mobile devices, applications and services.
This year’s conference, held Sept. 23-26 at the Hyatt Regency Toronto, is particularly special because the MobileHCI site selection process is competitive and OCAD University prepared the winning bid for Toronto – a first time for Canada and only the second North American city to host this prestigious conference in 16 years. OCAD U plays a significant role as the host institution: Dr. Sara Diamond, OCAD U’s president and GRAND Board Member, is the Organizing Co-Chair and Dr. Helmut Reichenbächer, the university’s Associate Vice-President Research, is the Local Arrangements Chair.
MobileHCI maintains a small number of tracks along with a wide range of other program aspects to encourage the exchange of research results, ideas and future research endeavours. The pre-conference program consists of workshops, interactive tutorials and a doctoral consortium. The main conference program includes papers, demonstrations and mobile experiences, posters, a design competition and industrial case studies.
